VASmalltalk – Headless IC’s now also under Linux

After having all the needed IC’s for headless distributing under VA 8.5/Windows I created today all IC’s for Linux. The procedure is pretty boring:

* create a passive image
* create all IC’s manually (because its the first time)

The IC’s are platform dependent (can they be platform independent ??). Therefore you have to create packaging classes for each IC for the platform Unix. This is more or less easily done. Start with the corresponding Windows packaging class. Remove all known IC’s binding and add their Unix counterparts, rename the name of the packaging name (e.g. add “Unix” to the name) rename the name of the packaging class (e.g. add “Unix” to the name), save it and let them create the IC’s.

Actually all IC’s were created without problems and even the Seaside application started without problems.
